Clearly-Protected WP
Hurricane Protection Services sells and installs the Clearly-Protected WP clear hurricane protection panels from Clearly-Protected in Port Orange, FL. These flat, optically clear panels are made with 1/4" GE XL10 - Lexan. XL10 refers to extended life 10 year polycarbonate sheet which has a co extruded UV resistant surface treatment applied to one side to protect the Lexan against UV degradation (yellowing), and has a 10-year UV surface warranty against yellowing and loss of light transmission from GE. The panels have a vinyl frame with weather stripping and grommet holes every 12 inches for attachment. Clearly-Protected WP is approved by the Florida Building Code (HVHZ). The features of Clearly-Protected WP are:
• Cost effective means of storm protection that can be installed with little or no architectural impact
• Max span 61" x 113"; maybe installed vertical or horizontal
• Can be installed on the face of a structure or in the window reveal with mounting angles
• Larger spans require two panels with mounting angle or mullions - site specific
• Can be mounted with panel mates or studded angle
